SCHEDULE OF ACTIVITIES
Friday, Sept. 18

• Preparation for Quilt Auction-VOLUNTEERS NEEDED!!
There will be LOTS of work to be done to prepare for this wonderful event.
If you would like to volunteer, please let Marcel or Lisa know and we will schedule you. We will need volunteers to help with hanging quilts, cleaning, setting up the camp, and maybe some raking. On Saturday we will also need volunteers to help with setup, in the kitchen, helping with the BBQ and Quilt Auction, and for moving things for transition for the different events. If you would like to spend the night and help both Friday and Saturday, there is Camper Cabin space reserved for Volunteers.
• Former Staff begin to arrive
Former Staff, please come, bring your families, enjoy the festivities, renew old friendships and see what is happening here at Luther Point. You are welcome to come for two nights, just one or just Saturday. We have set up some special, economical prices for a one or two night stay. Reserve your spot today by emailing Lisa or filling out the Registration Form (which also includes the prices).
Saturday, Sept. 19
• 8 am Free-will Continental Breakfast at the Dining Hall for Volunteers and Former Staff
There will be rolls or muffins, some fruit, coffee, juice and milk.
• 9 am Craft & Art Vendors, Quilt Viewing, and Canteen/Quilt Store/Silent Auction
To help us celebrate our 60th Anniversary, we have invited some Craft and Art Vendors to display their talents and wares. Come look at what they have to offer. Also, quilts going on the Auction block later in the afternoon will be on display. The Camp Store (otherwise known as the Canteen) will offer some quilts and crafts for sale as well as items for the Silent Auction.
• 10 am Former Staff Reunion Gathering at the Retreat Center
Former staff and their families will gather at the Retreat Center, get reaquainted and get an update about what is happening at Luther Point.
• BBQ Lunch
Come to the Dining Hall to choose from a variety of items from the grill. Menu is still being worked on.
• 1:45 pm Camper Reunion and Kids Play Area
Luther Point campers have all been invited back to Luther Point for the day to help us celebrate the 60th Anniversary and to meet with all their friends from camp. There will be lots of games, activities and fun with some counselors from this summer.
• 2 pm 21st Annual Quilt and Craft Auction Begins
Come bid on a BEAUTIFUL quilt made by the lovely women of the Luther Point Association Churches and other dedicated people. Many hours have been put into these lovely quilts. This year, the quilts have also been pictured online so that people can bid before they come to the quilt auction. (still in developmental stage)
• 4:30 pm 60th Anniversary Commemorative Service at the Chapel
Come help us honor the 'pioneers' of Luther Point and to bless the camp into the future. There will be some honored guest who will share stories from the past and a glimpse into the future.
• 5:30 pm Pig Roast Begins
Come enjoy our traditional Pig Roast!
• 6 pm Battle of the Bands
We have three bands for you to enjoy as you are finishing your Pig Roast. Bring your lawn chair, stay as long as you like and enjoy the music.
Sunday, Sept. 20
• 9 am Brunch followed by a Service in the Chapel
Former staff can bring their families and rock the chapel with a good old fashioned Camp Service. Bring your favorite camp song and your favorite camp memories to share. We will need a count for Brunch so please let us know if you are coming by emailing Lisa or signing up online when you register for a cabin.
