In-Camp Family and Singles

Sun., Aug 3 at 3 pm - Fri., Aug 8 at 11:30 am

You are invited to Family Camp this summer at LPBC. All families are welcome (singles, single parents, grandparents, grandchildren, as well as mom, dad, and the kids) to enjoy a week just for the family.

Accommodations include the Luther Point Retreat Center, Family Cabins and Luther Lodge. All throughout the week there will be organized activities for families plus plenty of free time to swim, hike, fish, go biking, explore the trails and spend time together as a family.

Dr. Emory L. Johnson will be back this summer as the Bible Study leader for Family Camp.  The theme for our camp this year is on "Righteousness and Justice."   Dr. Johnson will explain the Hebrew and Biblical definition of the word for "Righteousness and Justice", what it meant to the people of the Old and New Testament, and what it says to us today.   Since the ELCA has designated this year as the year of the Bible and is encouraging our members to read it, Dr. Johnson will also be leading us in an insightful study of selected Bible passages and teaching us some ways to approach our Bible reading for a greater understanding of what it is saying.

Rev. Johnson is the retired Chief of Chaplaincy Services for the Texas Department of Mental Health and Mental Retardation and is a Licensed Professional Counselor.  He presently serves as the Vice President of Shalom Music International of Jerusalem, Israel and as the International Prayer Coordinator for Israel Prayer Watch out of Toronto, Ontario, Canada.  He is a Deacon on the Council of Trinity Lutheran Church and resides in Spooner, Wisconsin.  He tells us to bring our Bibles, and any Biblical questions, and that he is looking forward to having a most interesting and facinating study of the Scriptures with us.

Come and join the family camp tradition at Luther Point this summer. It just might become an annual event for your entire family.

Children's Bible Study is led by counselors, with babysitting available for young children. Adults will have their own inspiring Bible Study time led by a special guest. There is plenty of time to boat, swim, fish, make crafts or just have some quiet time. Program, lodging and meals are included in the cost.

If you bring your own camper or tent, rather than using our lodging you will receive a 15% discount.

Remember there are Camperships available.
