Summer Camp
It was an exciting summer here at Luther Point Bible Camp as over 1,100 campers came through the camp to discover Where Jesus Meets Us! Campers of all ages had the opportunity to experience the love of Jesus through songs, worship, Bible study, crafts and a variety of outdoor recreational activities in this beautiful camp setting. Campers also lived out the theme Jesus Meets in the Neighbor through two unique service opportunities:

Quilt Squares
Campers took time every week to decorate quilt squares. Over 900 quilts squares were decorated throughout the summer! These squares will be made into beautiful quilts and distributed to children who have recently or are currently experiencing a crisis in their lives. This was a great hands on way for campers to reach out to their neighbors. LPBC wishes to thank Velma Larson whose passion and skills made this service project possible for campers.

New Life Community Center
In order to help neighbors who are further away, campers had the opportunity to donate some of their canteen money to the New Life Community Center (NLCC) in Kisii, Kenya. This center houses, educates and cares for children who have been orphaned, many by the AIDS epidemic. Throughout each week of camp, campers learned daily about the NLCC during Morning Worship’s Mission Moment. Many then gave generously during Thursday evening canteen. In total, $2,804.11 was donated to the NLCC this summer. This is an exciting partnership for Luther Point and the people served through NLCC. If you wish to learn more about Luther Point’s Mission Offering cause visit their website at www.nlccorphans.com.

Thanks to all of you who were part of the 2006 Summer Camp season. It was wonderful to live out the theme in this amazing outdoor ministry setting. I am looking forward to the coming year and another exciting summer in 2007!

God Bless,
