Horse Camp

All the great things of camp, plus horses! Our instructors teach participants basics of horse care and riding. They will receive daily instruction and riding time before returning to camp for games, worship, and Bible study.

Beginning Horse Camp:
For campers with little to no horse-riding experience entering 5th grade or above; This camp will focus on the basics of how to care for a horse along with teaching about the different equipment needed for riding (also called “ground class”). Campers will also learn how to mount, ride, and steer a horse through their time at the stables and go on trail rides.  All campers will be assessed on their first day at the stables given both a written and visual assessment.  These assessments are used to better tailor the class to all participants and their skill level.

Dates: June 23-28, 2024

Intermediate Horse Camp:
For campers with some horse experience and entering the 5th grade or above.  The camp will focus on move advanced horse care skills along with how to properly prepare a horse for riding.  Campers will spend more time on the trails learning to trot and lope along with other more advanced riding styles. All campers will be assessed on their first day at the stables given both a written and visual assessment.  These assessments are used to better tailor the class to all participants and their skill level.

WAIVER:

All Horse Camp Campers must have a completed waiver for Frontier Stables with them at registration on Sunday.  In addition all Horse Camp Campers must have long pants (jeans preferred) closed-toed shoes (boots preferred) and a water bottle.

REGISTRATION and drop off is at 3:00 p.m. in Shalom.  Closing campfire and pick-up  will be at 11:00 a.m.
